Our Research

YTT’s Research Team is made up of renowned experts in their field, child- development psychologists, practising clinicians, mental-health consultants, educational scientists, professors, pedagogical experts, GBV specialists and researchers from several Universities and Academic Institutions.

It is led by the Educational Department of Roma Tre University and supported by Sapienza University of Rome, INSHEA (National Higher Institute of Training and Research of the Education of Young Disabled Persons and Special Education), the Division of Arts and Media at the University of the West of Scotland and Sheffield Hallam University.

Evaluations and Tests in Public Schools

The effectiveness of our Inclusive Educational Programs and Vocational Training have been meticulously scrutinised through scientific evaluations conducted within the controlled environments of Academic Settings and Public Schools.

These assessments employ a rigorous combination of quantitative and qualitative evaluation processes, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the programs' impact.

Evaluation test in Italy

Over 600 schoolchildren across dozens of public schools participated in our program, alongside students from Morocco, Algeria, Lebanon, Chad, Tunisia, and Egypt through the PRIMED project. We also trained over 600 pre-service teachers.

Our main program evaluation was led by Dr. Paola Perucchini, Dr. Fridanna Maricchiolo, Maria Gaetana Catalano (Roma Tre University), Dr. Giordana Szpuner, Dr. Guido Benvenuto, Sara Gabrielli (Sapienza University) involving 77 school-children divided into experimental and controlled groups.

We investigated the reduction of explicit and implicit inter-ethnic prejudice and gender inequality. Prejudices were assessed through standardised tests, revealing a significant reduction in both explicit and implicit prejudice within the experimental group.

Evaluation test in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The YTT Peace-Building Program was meticulously crafted by YTT's theatre expert, Dr. Henry Bell from the University of the West of Scotland. This specialised program was tailored for local partner, the War Childhood Museum.

Trained educational specialists and facilitators now orchestrate this transformative initiative across numerous primary and secondary schools composing of the three principal constituent groups: Bosniaks, Croats, and Serbs. The program is strategically designed to foster peaceful coexistence by nurturing constructive personal and group relationships that transcend the boundaries of ethnicity, religion, class, and nationality.

Evaluation test in the UK

We embarked on an innovative journey by introducing a theatre-centric rendition of our Gender-Equality Education and GBV Prevention program. This variant was meticulously tested on a cohort of over 250 adolescents from multiple schools, creating an immersive and engaging educational experience.

Our collaborative efforts extended globally as we joined forces with the Madhya Pradesh police force from India. This partnership led us to collaborate with esteemed academic institutions like Sheffield Hallam University and Bournemouth University. Through these alliances, we fortified our commitment to fostering understanding, empathy, and knowledge in the realms of gender equality and the prevention of gender-based violence
